Allegiant Canine was started by Matt Burnett in 2018 and is based in Middle Tennessee. Over the last 16 years, Matt has been to 28 countries, learning the art and science of dog rescue and training in a variety of contexts. Matt sees dog training as a lifelong learning process and attends quarterly professional seminars and training programs to deepen his knowledge and hone his craft. After a long career of traveling Europe & Eurasia, he was the General Manager of Global K9 Protection Services in Franklin, TN and the Training Director for Rural Animal Rescue Effort in Columbia, TN. Matt has worked alongside animal rescues and other dog trainers for nearly a decade to assist in training hard-to-place dogs who need biological fulfillment through freedom and play. This world traveling dog lover enjoys working with sporting dogs, pet dogs, and rescue dogs, but is also a passionate teacher of people. It is said that over 90% of dog training is not actual canine-facing but human coaching because the hardest thing in this process is changing the human habit. That is what we are here for, and that is exactly the kind of mentorship you'll get from our team.

Services Overview

At Allegiant Canine, our specialty is behavioral rehabilitation through high-level off leash obedience. Whether you're dealing with a brand new hyperactive puppy, a shut down rescue dog, or a dangerous behavioral case, we have a program that offers a three-part holistic solution to heal the dog's emotional state, restore structure and boundaries in the home, and teach you and your family what you have and how to gain control and compliance through connection and biological fulfillment. We offer private lessons, virtual lessons, in-home intensives, and group classes based on your dog's needs, your family's goals, and your personal schedule and budget! Allegiant Canine also offers financing and special discounting to prepay clients and frontline heroes.

Private Lessons

One thing that separates us from our peers in the dog training community is our willingness to come to you, to address problem behaviors and paint a picture for structure and exercise in the environment where these behaviors manifest. Our first session is always the Intervention Session in your home, which will run about 90 mins. Subsequent sessions are 60 mins for $150. While every client's needs vary, to achieve off leash freedom, in public, with high distraction, most clients will need to complete a minimum of 10 private lessons. You can either purchase one lesson at a time or opt for a discounted bundle. The advantage to the Private Lessons Bundle is that clients can book sessions in advance to compound the effect to this life-giving training.

Intensive Packages

Another special difference between Allegiant Canine and other companies is our ability to offer personalized training in your home, even when you are unable to attend the lessons. Our stay & train program works as a private lessons intensive while you're out at work or even working from home. Your dog actually stays in the home for the duration of the program. We come for an hour a day, five times a week, to record and upload training sessions. You will also receive a free in-home hand off lesson for every week that was completed. Stay & Train programs are limited to clients within 20 mins of our location.

On Leash - 2 Weeks - $1,500

Off Leash - 4 Weeks - $3,000

Virtual Lessons

During COVID, we were forced to explore other options for lessons and found that clients at a great distance or with busy schedules really benefitted from Zoom Lessons as they are recorded for you to go back and review at any time. This is also a great option while we're trying to assess if this is going to be a good fit on both ends.

Initial Consult - 30 min - Free

Zoom Lesson - 60 min - $75

Additional Time - 30 mins - $25

Afterpay Financing

We understand what a significant investment dog training is for your family, financially and systemically, so to make sure things more flexible for our clients, we now offer Afterpay! This program allows you to pay your balance in 4 interest-free installments over 6 or 12 months. We don't see any of your financial information, and you can apply through the Afterpay link in your invoice.
